Thailand offers one of the best locations for anyone seeking a perfect scuba diving experience. However, Pattaya is not often at the top of peoples list when they write their scuba bucket list. So here at Dive Station Pattaya we thought we would take some time to tell you why you should consider to come and scuba dive in Pattaya.
The Weather
Pattaya is famous for its favourable all year round weather, which is why it has continuously grown in popularity in recent years with visitors from all around the globe. Unlike most other parts of Thailand, that experience extreme monsoon winds at various time of the year, Pattaya often remains calm nearly all year long. This means no matter when you visit you’ll be able to get out on the boat to enjoy a day or two of scuba diving in Pattaya.
Yes, the best months to visit and scuba dive in Pattaya are from November to March when it is always warm and sunny, only a few showers with temperatures around 30°C, but the settled all year round weather ensures that there is a consistency throughout the year with visibility on dives sites ranging from 6m to 20m.
The Variety
Pattaya boasts some of the most varied dive sites in the Kingdom of Thailand. When diving from Pattaya you have access up to five shipwrecks, the most popular being the S.S. Suddhadib (Hardeep) a World War 2 wreck located off Samaesan, which is widely recognised as one of the world’s top 10 wreck dives. The others include HTMS Mataphon and HTMS Kut, & HTMS Krahm. All these wrecks are accessible on Dive Station Pattaya’s daily fun diving schedule.
As well as wrecks, Pattaya offers a variety of coral sites with an abundance of varied sea life, with Blue Spotted Rays, Puffer Fish, Clown (Nemo) Fish to name but a few and more Sea Turtles than I have personally seen in one resort in all my diving career (and I have dived on 4 continents). Pattaya’s coral sites also offer a vast range of depths for all levels of divers from beginners to PADI Trimix divers. Finally, did I mention the currents? Here in Pattaya we can offer you several spectacular and adrenaline pumping drift dives.
The Training
The vastly different dive sites offer a fantastic environment to commence or continue your diver education, whether it be your Advanced Open Water Course, where unless its Ice Diving or Dry Suit you can do the dive or your PADI Wreck speciality, where else would you be able to easily do the course on 3 separate wrecks? Interesting in taking the leap into Technical Diving, then what better place to start than the world famous Sanmaesan Hole. Finally, is the Maldives on your bucket list, if so spend a day with us here in Pattaya learning about drift diving, you’ll thank us later.
The Location
Pattaya is located only a couple of hours away from Bangkok, the Capital of Thailand. It therefore makes it the ideal location if you want to endulge in your love of water while enjoying the historic sights of Bangkok.
Not all the reasons to scuba dive in Pattaya are in the water. Unlike some of the other dive locations around Thailand, scuba diving in Pattaya offers something for the non-diving members of your party and things for you when you want to take a break from the water.
The Shopping
Pattaya offers world class shopping. You can spend weeks shopping around Pattaya and still discover new places. There are countless markets, huge shopping malls, such as the brand new Terminal 21, with its international shops and restaurants.
Restaurants
Pattaya is a culinary delight. There is an excellent selection of cuisines from all over the world from low budget to high-end. You’ll never have to eat in the same place or eat the same thing twice – unless you want to of course!!
The Sightseeing
A day trip to one of the local sites such as Tropical Gardens, Pattaya Floating Market, Khao Chi Chan Buddha, Silverlake Vineyard, Sanctuary of Truth, are always worth it, plan to do one each visit that means you have to come back to scuba dive in Pattaya at least 5 times.
The MUAY THAI (Thai Boxing)
When it comes to getting or keeping fit Muay Thai is one of the best ( after Scuba Diving obviously!!). There are some excellent Muay Thai gyms around Pattaya and of course fights at various levels to watch at one of the stadiums. Pattaya is a great place to combine boxing and scuba diving.
As you can see there are some fantastic reasons to come to scuba dive In Pattaya, and the one thing Pattaya isn’t compared to many others Thai Scuba Resorts is it is not a Certification Factory. Here at Dive Station Pattaya we take care of all our guests as if they are family. We are a family run centre, so as soon as you walk through the the door you become a member of that family. We know you are on holiday so we make things as relaxing as possible for you. We want you think of us as family too and return many times.
