The SSI Science of Diving Specialty Program, This program provides an in-depth and detailed study of physics, physiology, decompression theory, the aquatic environment and diving equipment. Earning your Open Water Diver certification opens up a new underwater world, filled with opportunities to learn about physics, physiology and chemistry, and how they affect the human body while scuba diving. Your education does not have to end with your entry-level certification.
The training provided in the SSI Science of Diving program increases your understanding of these topics, and provides you with additional information about decompression theory, and the components of your Total Diving System and its accessories. Good divers are always learning. Our goal is to improve your knowledge of the aquatic environment and the sport of recreational scuba diving, and to ensure that you enjoy every aspect of your diving experience.

What is a Dry Scuba Course?
Dry scuba courses are Distance learning – they are academic based with no need for any in water activity and are ideal for this awkward time under the Covid restrictions.You just need access to a smart device and WiFi and you can undertake the course anywhere in the world.
What are the prerequisites for this course?
- There is no diving involved in this course therefore there are no Scuba Qualifications required to take the course. Just a minimum age of 10 years old and an enthusiasm to learn all.
