SSI Marine Ecology Course
The SSI Marine Ecology course will boost your understanding of the fragile marine environment. The free course provides a general understanding of the science of marine ecology, that is how the all the organism interact with each other and the environment. How energy flows through the marine food chain.
Topics covered include:
– marine ecosystems & the many different environments
– biodiversity of marine life
– marine evolution
– marine ecology & theories
– oceanography
– the many ways humans impact our oceans
– management & conservation
– how to get involved with marine conservation
Upon completion of your course you will be award the SSI Marine Ecology Specialty certification which is another step towards you Advanced or Master Diver ratings. You don’t have to be diver to complete the course and the certification. All you need to be is over 10 years old with an interest in the sea you can do it all from home.

What is a Dry Scuba Course?
Dry scuba courses are Distance learning – they are academic based with no need for any in water activity and are ideal for this awkward time under the Covid restrictions.You just need access to a smart device and WiFi and you can undertake the course anywhere in the world.
What are the prerequisites for this course?
- There is no diving involved in this course therefore there are no Scuba Qualifications required to take the course. Just a minimum age of 10 years old and an enthusiasm to learn all about the marine ecosystems.
