The SSI Advanced Open Water course is all about excitement and experience. You don’t need to be an experienced diver to take this course, in fact, you continue on after you completed your SSI Open Water course. (You’ll get instruction that is more specific to your diving abilities if you can complete this course with your Open Water Instructor). This course will increase your confidence and scuba diving knowledge in order for you to become more comfortable in the water.

It’s a great way of getting more  dives under your belt under the close supervision of your instructor and the course consists of 5 dives over 2 days.

What is the SSI Advanced Open Water Diver Program?

Advanced Open Water Diver consists of five (5) open water training dives taken from the first dive of individual specialties.

  • Mandatory open water training dives are required for Deep Diving and Navigation
  • Other 3 dives are taken from the SSI Specialities list e.g, Wreck Diver, Perfect Bouyancy (bplease talk to us in the shop about your requirements

How Long Does It Take? What Training is Involved?

The Advanced Open Water course is 2 days training, with 5 training dives in the ocean to 30m max.

Minors (12–14 years old): Participating in Deep Diving open water training dives have a maximum depth limit of 21 meters, with the option to upgrade to the full Advanced Open Water Diver limit at age 15 .

You will plan and dive 5 dives before which, you’ll complete some online learning

What you need to Bring:

  1. A willingness to learn
  2. Your Open Water Cert card or equivalent
  3. Your Divers Log Book
  4. Swimsuit or Swim Shorts to wear under your wetsuit
  5. Any Dive Gear you may have – some people already have masks
  6. Towel
  7. SUNSCREEN, hat & Sunnies you’ll be outside a lot
  8. Snacks for the boat

Prerequisites:

  1. Be 12 years old or older.
  2. Be Certified as SSI Open Water diver or equivalent
  3. Be medically fit according to the medical statement. (Download Here)

Whats Involved:

  • 2 Days Training

  • 5 scuba dives to 30m max (21m if aged 12-14)
