Having scuba tanks on your back isn’t a requirement for exploring the underwater world. Many scuba divers have discovered the joy of mounting cylinders on their sides. Sidemount diving offers divers a different approach to equipment configuration. It also presents an opportunity to learn a completely new set of skills. It takes redundancy to a new level. For many divers who try Sidemounts for the first time, the knowledge that their breathing systems are in view at all times is a massive comfort.

Description

What will I do?

The SSI Recreational Sidemount Diver Course will show you how to adapt your current diving skills developed in conventional back-mounted BCD/wing configuration for use with side mounts. The course develops your ability to assemble, configure and understand how to safely use sidemount equipment. Along with the theoretical knowledge to plan, manage and execute no stop recreational sidemount dives within the depth limits of your current certification of Open Water, Advanced Open Water or Deep Diver etc.

During one confined water and three open water scuba dives, you’ll learn how to:

Properly assemble and configure sidemount scuba diving equipment.
Trim your weight system and sidemount gear so you’re perfectly balanced in the water.
Manage gas by switching second stages as planned, if wearing two cylinders.
Respond correctly to potential problems when sidemount diving.

How is the Couse is Structured?

The SSI Sidemount Diver Course is held over 2 days.

Day 1 Pool and classroom
Day 2 Boat and 3 Open Water Dives

What scuba gear will I use?

Dive Station Pattaya will provide all your basic sidemount diving equipment, including sidemount cylinders, sidemount regulators. Also if required Dive Station Pattaya can provide you with Mask, Fins and Snorkels.
